Azure – Reduce your day-to-day management tasks with Azure Automanage (preview)

As you know, IT administration has a lot of every day management tasks.

Well, if you are running your workloads in Azure you can now reduce these day-to-day tasks by using Azure Automanage: a new capability for your virtual machines management tasks on Azure.

Azure Automanage will automatically implements VM management best practices as defined in the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework.

To start using Azure Automanage logon to your Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com) and search for automanage

As this the first time you are setting up it, there is probably no  virtual machines configured for automanage; you will have to click on Enable on existing VM to start setting up your VM’s for automanage

There you will be able to select virtual machine to be enabled for automanage (they must be in running state) as well the configuration profile to apply.

The configuration profile is defining which best practices need to be applied to your VM’s.

If you click on the Browse and change profiles and preferences you will access the predefined list of best practices for production and dev/test environment but you will also be able to create your own profile
