Azure – The Azure Virtual Machine Overview blade has been updated and provides more meaningful information

If you work with virtual machines running on Azure you already know that the Overview blade was giving you some insights regarding the performances (CPU, network traffic, disk operations…).

Well, the Overview blade for the virtual machine has been updated and is now giving you more meaningful information, like the Operating System, Machine size, the publisher or installed extension.

The blade is now using Tabs to show these information:

  • Properties: gives you some details about the virtual  machine; installed extensions, availability and scaling, VM generation…
  • Monitoring: which the ‘old’ overview blade giving the performance details
  • Capabilities: what you can enable/configure for the VM, like backup, disaster recovery or update management
  • Tutorials: gives you access to some documentation and tutorial to make the most of your virtual machine
