Azure Virtual Desktop – Ensure you are using a recent remote desktop client before July 27th 2021

If you are using Windows Virtual Desktop (aka WVD, aka Azure Virtual Desktop, aka AVD) you know you need to use a specific remote desktop client.

The AVD Remote Desktop client is being updated frequently to introduce new capabilities and fixes.

Well, starting July 27th 2021, Microsoft is enforcing a minimum remote desktop client.

You need to ensure you are running at the least the below version to connect on AVD:

  • Windows Desktop client: 1.2.1672
  • Microsoft Store client: 10.2.1810
